I have met so many nice people on the internet. Even though we most likely won't meet in person, I hope to see you someday in Heaven!
If you were to die today, do you know if you would go to Heaven?
If you're not sure, please read on!
Getting to Heaven does not depend on being good or doing good things. In fact, there is nothing you can do to earn a place in Heaven. The only way there is through
Jesus Christ.
All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's perfect holiness. Any sin - whether it is "small" or "big" - is absolutely evil when compared to the standard of the perfect goodness of our Holy God. The Bible explains that God's punishment for everyone who sins is death - which is both physical death when our bodies die, and spiritual death in being permanently separated from Him. If we die in our sins, we will go to Hell for all eternity.
But God did something wonderful for us when He provided the way for us to be reconciled to Him and to escape the peril of going to Hell. He sent His Own Son, Jesus to die for us and shed His Own blood for us on the cross. Jesus took all of our sins upon Himself to pay the price that we deserve, so that God's justice can be fulfilled AND we can be saved to have everlasting life with Him in Heaven.
So, the only way to ensure that you will go to Heaven is to believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. This means that you don't put your trust in anything or anyone else to save you, but Jesus alone.
God offers you this precious gift of His Son and of everlasting life out of His love for you. His wonderful gift is for anyone who comes to Him with a sincere heart, willing to believe and trust in Him. It doesn't matter who you are or what you have or haven't done. No one has sinned too greatly to be forgiven by Him. He is calling you to leave your old life behind and follow Him instead.
God asks that you come to Him humbly, realizing that you have sinned (there is no one who hasn't sinned) and that you accept that Jesus has paid the price for your sins by dying on the cross for you, in your place.
Your commitment to Him requires repentence, which means that you promise with your heart and mind to give up your own selfish desires and sinful ways and instead choose to obey God and do His will. We learn what He wants us to do by reading His Word, the Bible. He helps us to understand how to "die" to ourselves and our selfish desires and to live for Him instead. God will give you the gift of His Holy Spirit to live within your heart
to comfort you and help you to understand what the Bible teaches you to do. You will be born again, this time spiritually - God will make you a new creation with a new heart that is willing and able to follow Him.
If you truly open your heart to this wonderful gift God offers you, you can be assured that you will go to Heaven and live forever. That's the great news!! What is more wonderful than that?!
If you love someone, you want to see them in Heaven, don't you?
Tell everyone the great news - don't assume that they already know it.
God has given us a precious gift, and He wants us to share it!
I'm looking forward to seeing you there, too! :) In His Love, Cherie
Jesus said "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."
"If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:3-6; 12-19)
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:4-10)
"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:22-23)
